Dangerous flea/tick products

We interrupt this blog to bring you an important news bulletin. The good dogs at Holmhaven alerted us of this article. It is always nice to have someone who cares. Especially after you found your furever home (thanks Lil).

Well, it seems like flea and tick medication has caused serious problems with some pupsters and kitty cats out there. If you use something other than Frontline, Advantage or Advantix, we suggest you check out the following website: www.alternet.org/story/123420. Feel free to post about this and pass the story on to our other furry friends out in cyber-paw space.

The article made Dad glad he followed the guidance that was given. If you have read stories like this in the past or known someone who had an adverse reaction, we would like to hear about it. The same goes if you use the products and have no problems.

As our Latin fore-pawthers a pawzillion moons ago in ancient Rome would bark: "Latro! fremo! Ipsa scientia potestas est." (Translation "Woof! Grrrr! Knowledge itself is power.")

Essex & Deacon

Yes, thanks for posting this. We had heard to never use over-the-counter flea medicine. We use Frontline too.

I almost cried looking at that horrible picture of Wings. We cannot trust pet products nowadays. We use Frontline too but my hoomans try their best not to use it as long as they can unless we are really infested in ticks & fleas.

Oh no! We dont have fleas here, but we do have ticks, but we don't use flea/tick stuff anyway, we are lucky!

Thank you for sharing this. I don't use ANY of those flea and tick things - I'm allergic to all of the one's that we tried. The Mom has to watch me very carefully! Usually, no fleas or ticks bother with my Husky fur!

Hi and thanks for the info on this site! I have a beautiful 11 year old tri-color Collie. Every time I used Frontline on her she would throw up yellow bile for several days. My vet told me to use Advantix instead, so far no problems. She's always been a sensitive girl and I know the Frontline isn't supposed to cause problems for some reason it did.
