Growing Old With Dogs

A friend that our Dad works with sent him this link ( http://www.greatdanepro.com/Growing%20Old/index.htm ) that has a poem about growing old with dogs. It really struck home with Dad, especially after reading Charlie's latest post. Now Dad can't compete with the person that put that site together, so he recommends you go visit it. If you have some time left over, go visit Charlie too, his Mom will appreciate the support.

As for the poem, it touches the heart of a dog person. We don't think people other than those that have allowed an animal to touch their soul will understand. Then of course that very quality describes a DWB hooman.

Oh My, How touchingly beautiful and true that is. Without my dogs, I do not know how I would survive. I've had them all my life an always will.
Thanks for visiting us regularly over the last oh so many months. We appreciate it much. Will you ask your dog dad to email our mom at the texas sun dog at g mail dot com, please Deacon and Essex? She would appreciate it. We are trying to get back into the flow. Mom got the ancient laptop to work(most of the time:)
I will go see Charlie now.
Hugs

Dear Collies -- You sure know how to make our Mom get a lump in her throat and her eyes fill up with tears!

As the poem says, "Loving us is easy."

Being worthy of the love we give so freely is the hard part.

Tell your dad thanks!

Hi Essex and Deacon - That was so beautiful. My mom started crying as soon as it started because the German Shepherd on it reminded her so much of Freddie...and she feels just like that. Thank you. We'll visit Charlie now.

Your pal,
Joey

Dear Essex and Deacon,

You write such kind things about us, it really warms our heart. It is a sad day, but it makes things so much easier to bear knowing that there is so much love and support amongst the kindred spirits in the dog blogosphere.

With best, bestest tail wags,
Charlie's human
