Essex Crosses the Bridge

Dear cyber-paw pals, it is with heavy heart that I report that my Great Auntie Essex crossed the Rainbow Bridge during the night.  Dad woke up this morning, when he went to get our leashes he noticed Essex laying on the ground.  He remembered the expression on Deacon's face and knew she had crossed the bridge.
What Dad Saw This Morning
She has joined my Uncle Deacon.  Dad and I are sure she is reporting to Grand-Paw and Grand-Mutter (Dog Dad's Mom & Dad) as well as Deacon.  We will right more in the next couple days.

Heaven has gained a great collie.  We can see Essex calmly walking up to every paw and gently greeting them.

Dog Speed Great Auntie Essex,

Sherman

Joe,

Essex was such a beautiful dog, I know you -- and all of your friends -- are heartbroken for you, especially finding her like that.

Having just watched Just Harry go through his own way of mourning his brother -- it's only in the past week or so that he seems more like himself -- I know that Sherman will have his own time of grief,

Sending you my heartfelt condolences. I wish I could do more.

The Bridge will be welcoming another beautiful soul.

I'm so very sorry. Essex was a GREAT dog! I will miss seeing pictures of her and hearing about her adventures at the park. I know you and Sherman are heartbroken. I guess she did it her way and I hope peacefully. I am sending you huge hugs because I know how sad you both are. I know also that she's greeting Deacon and your folks right now and they are all glad to see her. But I still wish she was still with you. What a sweet girl.

Rest Easy Sweet Essex. If my Sparky wasn't there when you crossed the bridge, please try to find him and give him lots of kisses from me. Sherman and Dog Dad already miss you very much. I know you can never be replaced, but hope you can help dad pick out a new puppy, maybe from one of Star's litter who we are expecting in late December.

Stay strong Sherman and Joe. You know all to well that time will heal your sadness and the excitement of having a new puppy in the house will overtake you! You are both in our thoughts and prayers...

Stopping by from The Cowspotdogs blog. I am sorry to hear of your loss. Its always hard when there is a loss in the family. Dogs are family. Mommy says it was so hard when one of her dogs passed in the house. The dog died in the spot they usually put up their Christmas tree. Every Christmas she always looks at the tree and tries to remember the happy moments she had with the dogs of her past. Thinking of dog toys and treats and in general the warm caring compassionate dogs they were in all their special own ways. Essex sounded like a very precious Collie.

Dear Sherman and Joe,
So very sad to hear that Essex left for the Bridge. We will miss her gentle spirit. Know that she will always be with you and will continue to watch over you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. A sad howl will be raised in her honor in the kennel and mom sends ((hugs)). Essex, rest easy, sweet girl and play with Deacon and all our friends at the Bridge.
Love and hugs,
Skye, all the Moondance Huskies, kitties and mom Joan

I am so sorry for your loss. Yesterday we had to say goodbye to our boxer boy Peanut. He was almost the same age as Essex 11-23-2003 was his birthday and we had had him since he was a puppy. I know just how you feel at this moment. My heart goes out to you.

It's never easy losing an animal we've bonded to and loved over many years. Got yur email and called the second I got done reading it. Essex was a special girl, a gentle spirit, a dainty lady. She will definitely be missed. Hoping u r healing and feeling better, but I'm sure Mr. Sherman is helping u with that. You can take comfort in knowing she'll be waiting for u when u get there, probably with that evil golf cart she's been chasing all these yrs :-)

Dog Dad and sherman,
I'm just shocked and feel sick to see how darling Essex was. She was a gorgeous doggie and we'll miss her so so much! I'm just so upset, it's hard to take it in that she's gone. But she's not gone in my heart.
Hope you're all ok, it will be so upsetting for you now.
