Remembering Deacon

Dog Dad and I are dog sitting this week.  My buddy Miles is staying with us for a week.  It is nice having another dog around the house. Promise to post about that in a later post.  Today Dad is remembering Uncle Deacon, the Collie Ambassador.
Deacon Would Have Been Eight
Uncle Deacon, would have been eight years old today.  Dad thinks about him and his silly ways.  He tells me stories about him.  Things like him lifting dog biscuits out of a persons pockets.  Wanting to come in, when he had really muddy paws.  Dad smiles and then gives me hug.  I give him a face lick, telling him it okay to remember.  His collies are always with him, they are in his heart even when they have crossed the bridge.

Uncle Deacon's Muddy Paws
Don't worry every paw, I am taking care of Dad.  He only gets a bit sappy when he remembers Barkdays past and Bridge Crossings.  He will be fine tomorrow.

Dog Speed,

Sherman

Deacon was a most excellent collie! Eight yrs old would be hard to believe cuz he acted like such a puppy most of the time. I remember him most fondly. I do remember one visit yrs ago when I was there for a tropical storm. Deacon went out and started pawing at the back glass door to come back in...mud all over his paws and also the glass. I called u to come look and let him in if u wanted today cuz I was NOT gonna let him come in like that!!! Silly boy, always the goober ;-)

Deacon looked like a fantastic friend, but don't forget, collies are always there! I wish I could lift treats from people's pockets!
Have a super week,
Pippa :)

Sherman, you be sure to give Dog Dad hugs and licks from all of us here in CT. Dog Dad is lucky to have you taking care of him!
