Collieween 2012

To every paw out there "Happy Collieween."  It is Dog Dad's favorite day in the Keys.  About 150 or 200 trick or treaters stop by our house.  Dog Dad just camps out outside.  We get to stay in the bedroom, something about little kids being scared by barky collies.  Heck, we are just trying to give them a trick, since Dad has the treat part covered.

Below our two favorite Collieween pawtographs.  We didn't take them, but we think they are pawsome.
Happy Collieween
Trick or Treat
On a sad note, our pal Skye had one of her pack cross the rainbow bridge yesterday. Dog Dad found out on the telephone, as we were concerned about their pack because of Hurricane Sandy visiting the north east. Dave crossed after the storm had passed.  He was 13 years old and had retired from the sled team.   Both Dog Mom and the Team will miss him. They haven't posted about it yet, but if you get a chance stop by the http://moondancehuskiessleddogteam.blogspot.com and give them a kind word or two.

That's sad news about Dave.

You have a lot of kids for Halloween!! We can't imagine so many!! And you're lucky you can sit outside. No one will be doing that here!!! Happy Collieween!!

Sorry about Dave...he looked like a ppl lover.

Had 52 kids for Halloween, expected more but the 5 bags of leftover candy (got 10) will be used for the movie theater in the next 6 months.

U sure Essex & Sherman aren't barking at the trick or treaters cuz they want some treats too? ;-)

My fav pic is the ghost collies...if they came to my door, I'd drop my treats and run! BOL

Sorry to hear about Dave.

Happy Halloween! We only had 34 kids! I get to answer the door with mom (I am on a leash). The kids like to see me and I do pretty well with all the commotion.

Hi Essex, Sherman,

Sorry to hear about your pal Dave. We visited their blog.

We've seen the trick or treat bit in some Hollywood movies, but I still wonder whether pets too join the kids in it? Never seen one in the movies...

Licks n wags,
Oorvi

The dogs look great. Strangely our vistors loved petting the one Sheltie that would go near the door, determined they had discovered "Lassie" the Collie in their neighborhood. There is something about the face that seems to hypontize even the most frightened child into wanting to pet them.
