Sherman Arrives in Key West

Sherman has finally joined us in Key West.  We left Key West around 10 AM .  The drive up the Keys was slow and traffic heavy.  The weather was overcast, but no rain on the way up.  Dad stopped by Pet Smart to pick up some Purina 1 Puppy Chow for Large Breeds for Sherman.  The stores don't carry that particular Purina 1 brand in Key West.  We met Sherman around 2:45 PM Saturday.  When we got in Dad was swarmed by a dozen or so Holmhaven Collies.  When Dog Dad sat down Midnight, Star and Emily jumped up on Dad and licking him.  It seemed all the Collie love my Dad.

Lil talked about the Collie Drill Team and showed us pawtographs.  The weather started getting dark.  I said good bye to my tri-color brother Filip and my sister Frannie. We started heading east to see Jake and JH.  The rain was so hard our windshield wipers had problems keeping up and we could see lightning strike the ground.  We called, told them we were taking a rain check on our visit.  They agreed that we should head back home.  The weather to the west and south was a lot better.  Some overcast and rain but Dog Dad could handle that.

In the SUV driving south
Sherman in the back of the SUV
Sherman lost his lunch in the car.  We stopped in Cudjoe Key to visit Bill and Kay.  They Grand Kids were there, so we had a better than expected time.  We got home around 9:30 PM.  Sherman ate a full meal and started settling into his surroundings.  Dad is tired from the trip.  Sherman is tired from the trip and stress of being in a new home.

Sherman know Dog Dad loves him and is getting used to his new home.  It is now a time of healing.

This is very happy news, that little Sherman is in his forever home with all of you. He is the sweetest looking little fellow!! Too bad the weather was nasty and you had to cut your visits short. And poor little guy getting car sick! Hopefully he will outgrow that. I am sure that Essex will be a real help to Dog Dad in looking after Sherman and that Sherman will be settling in very quickly and happily!! Welcome little Sherman!!

Aunt Becky hit the wrong key for that last comment. I think Rosie knows more about computers that I do

Welcome home Shermee - there is such a wonderful life ahead of you and so many new and interesting things to discover - make sure you have all your shots before going to Angel Paws park though - dog parks are where puppies can pick up nasty things. Pet stores - so we learned are actually better because their floors are disinfected every night :)

So glad to see you are finally home Sherman. Let me know how your first night goes. I'm still whimpering here and there. I know Shiloh is here for me and Essex for you, but I still miss our litter mates :( Be strong, we are in store for some great fun.

My first night went well. There were a couple soft whimpers and Dad petted me. He put the crate is right next to the bed at night.

The only time I whimpered a lot was when Dad and Essex went on there morning walk and I was all alone. When then got back, I was really happy. When DadI went to the grocery store in the morning and put me in the kennel, Essex was home, so I was okay. As long as either Dad or Great Auntie Essex is home, I'm okay.

Hey Sherman, jealous to hear you are in Key West and we aren't - lucky dawg! You will eventually meet us when our mom finally gets us down for a visit or when your dad takes you up north to visit family. We are your halfway stop :). We can't wait to lick you! Lady I and Lady II

Welcome Sherman! You are sooo cute! You are one lucky puppy because you have got the best family who will love you furever!

(The water at Aquae Sulis/ Bath comes out of the spring at 92F - and is wonderful to bathe in, but not recommended to drink as it smells!)
