Angel Paw Gate

Well everypaw, it looks like our gate at Angel Paw needs to be replaced. Some of us at the Dog Park are out looking for a gate. Dad will go out tomorrow and check on the price at Home Depot.

Dad looks at it and said "If Essex bounces the gate during fence patrol, it will collapse and all the dogs will run out." We mentioned it to the appropriate people several weeks ago but we think they all ignored us. The fence has went through several herricanes and was completely under water from storm surge from herricane Wilma.

We did have a little excitement at Angel Paws today. Daisy the Labrador Retriever got so excited running around that she ran into Ollie's Mom and knocked her over. It was a blind sided hit, so poor Ollie's Mom fell down and landed on her wrist. She is going to get her wrist x-rayed tomorrow. All of our pack hopes she is okay, because we all like here. Especially Deacon, who barked that she brings some pawsome treats to the park.

Other than that things are hot and slow.

Heat, Cars & Dogs

We have been busy helping Dad around the house and snoozing. Things have been slow and the days hot and humid. We go late to the dog park and don't stay out long during the day. We've met some new friends at Angel Paws. We will have to wait and see if they become regulars.

It has been warm at Angel Paws
A 5-month old Welsh Terrier puppy.
Deacon pretending to be a towel rack.
We noted the sad news from Arnold, Missouri today. A dog handler left eight dogs in a van over night. Click here if you want to read the tragic story about the seven show dogs that crossed the rainbow bridge. We for one are not quick to crucify somebody over a lapse in judgement. So our hearts go out to the dogs, the dog owners and the handler and the dogs. Dad has done stupid things, especially when tired. We have done silly things too, like the time Essex knocked herself out at the city dog park. We hope people get a little wiser from reading this sad article.

Dog Dad told us this is why he hates traveling during the summer. He feels guilty having to gas up the car or go inside the rest stop to relieve himself, while we are stuck in the truck during long drives. He prefers long distance traveling during the fall or spring, when it is cooler.

Stay safe, stay cool and give your hoomans a good face lick. That makes a lot of things all better.

Second Blogaversary

Two years of blogging and
just back from Angel Paws

Hello cyber-paw pals, today we celebrated our two-year blogaversary with post number 193. Today was a hot day and we rested in the house enjoying the A/C until about an hour before sunset. Then we went to Angel Paws. Dad promised some cheddar collies by Saturday. We’ll keep a cold nose on him until he delivers.

At this time last year we were visiting in Ohio. If you remember that post Dad saved Deacon from Rocky, the pit-bull. We happily report, today was a fun day and nothing like that happened.

It is amazing this all started because of post by our shirt tail cousin Tosca. That was the first blog post Dad read, it was Tosca titled “Lassie is Boy in Drag.” He went to reread it again today and laughed just like the first time. In our first month of posting we were visited by Tosca, Opy, Opie & Gomer and Buster from DWB. Tosca, Opie & Gomer rarely post and we miss them. In that first month late Great (Great) Uncle Bobby's mom visited us. We have to admit we never thought we would meet so many good people.

The picture from our first post was before we went digital.
The photo was actually taken in mid-December 2006

We end this blogaversary post with the same last lines from our first post. “May your tail wag, your belly be full, and may you have a forever family to rub your tummy and scratch behind your ears.”

Mail From Nebraska

This Friday the mailman walked right up to the door. We were barking like crazy at him. Then he gives Dad a box. Dad puts the box down and we have to sniff it to make sure it is safe. You can't be too safe now of days. We check out the package and it is addressed to us and it from Reilly the Cowspot Dog. We start a woofing up a storm. Inside treats for us and a shirt for Dad. Totally pawsome Reilly, you are da best.

Dad I better check out this package.
Wowzers, this mail is addressed to us
Treats, a t-shirt and a note from Reilly

We think Reilly is the woofiest

Then we went to Angel Paws. Deacon barked at everyone about our pawsome buddy Reilly. Next came Ms. Loretta on her golf cart. All the dogs know her because she always brings treats. When she starting walking to the fence, Deacon starts jumping up and puts his front paws on the fence. That way he can get some treats right away. Essex doesn't want treats, she wants to chase and bark at the golf cart. BOL
Deacon gets a pat and a treat

Lazy Sunday

Today is a lazy Sunday cyber-paw pals. We have been taking it easy because it is hot and humid outside. It is 84 F (29 C) and very humid. Dad cut up some palm fronds this morning and looked like he jumped in the pool. So it has been slow most of the day. Hard to want to do anything, until it cools off and we take off to go to the dog park.

Dad talked to his brudder and grand paw (his pawther) today on the telephone. Now it is just time for him to sit down and scratch a collie behind the ear. Ahhh, a little to the left Dad. Ohhh, that feels good.

Hope all is going well in your world.

You Don't Know Collie

Are you up to challenge cyber paw pals?
Because we don't think you know collie.

The number 190 is significant today. So on this our 190th post, we decided to do something special. We decided to see how well every paw knew Collies. Keep track and let us know your score. If you graduated Some Dog Barks Loudly, you know Collie. We expect most of our readers will fall into watching Lassie reruns or studying. Just click and drag your mouse after the question and you will see the answers.

Project Done

Well, the master bathroom is done. Don't we look just pawsome in the new shower? We are happy they are done. We love the quiet and this looks so much better than the old master bath.
A Two Collie Shower

"Essex, come check out the new bathroom"

Dad told us that new herricane shutters are being installed this week. No more putting up plywood for Dog Dad. He is getting the accordion type shutters, we know that he will be happy with the saving of both time and space when we have to board up the house.
We got a Kreativ Blogger award from Kess. Kess we love your blog too.
Here are the rules for passing on this award:
1. Post it on your blog and link to the person who gave it to you.
2. List 7 things you love
3. List 7 blogs you love
4. Email or comment on those blogs to let them know you've given them an award

Things we love:
1) Fence patrol
2) Cheese
3) Hearing Dog Dad whistle the "Lassie Tune," that usually means some type of treat.
4) Early morning walks
5) Seeing cousin Clyde and our friends Hattie & Cassie on our Ohio trips
6) Ice cream and ice cubes
7) Sleeping on the couch

Blogs we love:

We could name a lot more, but the list named seven. We love quite a few blogs but we will restrict sending it to every paw. Half the fun of getting an award is sharing it with some other paw.
