10 DEC 2012

Dog Dad is thinking of Deacon.  It was six years ago today that he picked him up at Holmhaven.  A young pup going on his third home.  We can feel the presence of Deacon by our side, telling us it is all okay.  We think of those eyes, that always seemed to have a special twinkle in them.  When Dad drives to the park today, the memory of being licked behind the ear while driving will come to mind.  The memory of coming home with the big guy and how Essex & Deacon frolicked together will be in Dog Dad's mind.
Deacon - The Collie Ambassador
Sherman has showed up for some attention.  Both Essex & Sherman will get an extra special hug today.  They deserve it.

Dog Speed,

Essex & Sherman & Dog Dad

Memories always stay with us - our Mom remembers every dog she has ever has since the age of 5 and remembers all their little quirks.

Mom hasn't got any test results back - so no news yet.

Awwww Dog Dad. I wish they could stay with us forever. But I guess they do in a way. Not the same though. Hugs.

Essex and Sherman,

When I first found your blog (2 years ago,) Deacon was with us. So when Mercury wanted to draw that clock, she had a hard time deciding whether Essex or Deacon should model for it. She loved his golden fur and intelligent eyes.

We think of him often.

Licks n wags,

Sorry for comments confusion. Mercury here isn't very comfortable with the blogger's commenting system.

I didn't know you when Deacon was with you. So I don't really know his story. But it's obvious you loved him, and miss him still...sorry for your loss.

Always will miss Deacon the same way I miss mom and dad. Isn't that strange? Beloved animals leave footprints in our hearts and souls just as people do. I just can't wait to get to heaven to see 'em all!
