Rocky

On 17 February a new pup came to live with Dad's sister in Cincinnati.  The pup name is Rocky.  Rocky has big paws to fill, as Clyde was a pawsome dog and expert shrew hunter.

Rocky is a husky and from what we were told he is low energy dog.  We didn't know that such a thing existed.  We are happy fur Dad's sisters.  As we have said before the only thing worse than losing a pup is not having one in your life.

I am looking forward to meeting Rocky..

Angel Park Friends - February 2020

We were going to post Friday, but Dad got sick.  I am watching over him and making sure he is okay.  A lot of things happened this month.  I have two pals at Angel Paws.  The first is McGee.  I first met McGee back in March 2018.  Sherman and McGee looked like twins.

We've gotten together with McGee at Angel Paws and I stayed on day with him while Dad drove back and forth to Miami on 12 March.  I enjoy visiting with McGee, but liked being back home with Dad more. 

Mac

This is the first time we've posted about Mac, though we met him last year.  Mac is a pawsome little Sheltie Boy.  He likes me but doesn't like to play much.

Rosie Crosses The Bridge

Rosie, the cat, knew Essex, Deacon, Sherman and me.  She had plenty of tails to tell about visiting collies.  She got along best with Essex.  The two were not best pals, but they definitely got along.  The calm personality of Essex made all kinds of creatures calm.  She let Deacon sniff her.  Sherman and I loved to chase cats if they ran from us.

Rosie lived over twenty years with Dad's sister.  She was a pawsome house cat and was loved by her family.  She enjoyed looking out the window and chilling out.  She was a house cat and would sleep by her hooman.  Recently, she was starting to have  kidney failure.  She had problems keeping down food and was sick.  So today the vet helped her cross the bridge.  She probably came up to Essex to say hi, but stayed away from Sherman and Deacon.

An Interesting Week

It has been an interesting week here in Key West.  

While I was at the Dog Park, a pawson mentioned that the International Space Station was going to fly over around 6:30 PM.  I sat down with Dad and scanned the sky.  Bowser, it looked pawsome flying over Angel Paws folks.  We watched it for a whole six minutes.  

On Wednesday I was reunited with a collie pal that came down to visit.  McGee was here two years ago and returned.  It was two years ago that Sherman and I met McGee.  My tail was wagging when we met.

Then today we met up with a sheltie pal named Mac.  I met him last year.  I told Dad he needs to bring his camera, so he can take a pawtograph of Mac.  He looks like a tiny version of Sherman.  

Both McGee and Mac asked about Uncle Sherman.  I relayed the sad news, and they told me they were sorry and hope a new collie comes my way soon.  

We will try to get some pawtographs in the next couple days.

2019 in Review

I wish all our cyber-paw pals a Barky New Year.  We hope 2020, "The Year of the Rat" is good to every paw.   2019 had some good memories, but November's bridge crossing of Uncle Sherman will make it a sad year for the tow of us.  We look forward to new adventures and the arrival of a sable Holmhaven puppy in the spring.  We will continue to visit Angel Paws and meeting new friends.

As you can see it was quite a busy year.  I need to post some pictures of our Angel Paws dog pals.  We have two pals named Dorey and Brady.  They show up quite often at the park.  Their Mom is from Ohio like Dad.  Dorey is a rescue from Hurricane Dorian.  I am looking forward to a new Holmhaven collie puppy joining our pack this year.  We will keep you posted after the pup is born.

Last Post of 2019

It has been a strange Essexmas and New Years Eve without Uncle Sherman around.   I miss not having him around to play with at home.  Dad tries, but he is not very good at dog games.

Angel Paws has been hit and miss.  One day there are ten pups and other days it is just me and Dog Dad.  Dog chums have come and left Key West this year.  Others regulars rarely come to the park now. 

Dad is reminiscing right now about 31 December 2003.  That is the day that Great Great Auntie Essex came to live with Dad.  It was an event that furever changed his life.  At Angel Paws Dog Park, he was telling Rambo's Mom about Sherman, Deacon and Essex.  It all started with the story of fence patrol.

We will post more tomorrow as we look back at 2019.

Essex-mas 2019

I awoke today to Dad telling me Merry Essexmas. I got a long walk, extra treats and cheese.  That and plenty of attention from Dog Dad. 

Essexmas baking was interesting this year.  The piece that kept the mixer on the stand broke.  Dog Dad jury-rigged the mixer with outstanding results.  He took some string, made a loop and tied it to the kitchen cabinet handle and put the handle in the loop.  It worked pawsomely.

Dad will be looking at getting a new mixer.  The old Sunbeam Mixer was his Mom's and is from the 50s or 60s.  That mixer has made a lot of cookies, cakes and mashed potatoes.  Dad would think of Ohio and his pawrents when he used the mixer 

As fur me, I am paying extra attention to Dad, since Uncle Sherman crossed the bridge.  Dad doesn't go back to work until 6 January, so I plan to enjoy having him around.
